Summer Workshops/Enrichment classes

Summer workshops and enrichment classes are offered for existing students or new students with no prior musical experience. Each class focuses on specific music topic which supplements students' yearly class curriculum and for those who are interested in picking up new skills/knowledge. This year, we will be offering a composition class (Dragon Quest) and a rhythm class (Bucket Drumming).Please see below for additional details and requirements.

Dragon quest
​(Composition class)

The Dragon Quest is a delightful introduction to music composition. Students will be composing several easy music vcomposition exercises that will give them a solid introduction to the magical world of music composition. This is a fun workshop for beginning students.

Story: A magical musician is looking for an apprentice until he finds you. If you are willing, he will send you on an adventure that will require you to compose music of your own to overcome challenges and complete your mission.
 
Class Details:
This is a 3hr workshop and it is divided into 2 sessions. Each session is for 1.5 hours. Students must be able to complete both sessions of the workshop. For scheduling conflict, students can opt to combine a session from each option.  

• Option 1
  • Date - Monday, June 12th and Wednesday, June 14th
  • Time - 2:30pm - 4pm

 

• Option 2
  • Date - Tuesday, June 27th and Thursday, June 29th
  • Time - 2:30pm - 4pm

Requirements:

• Student must be able to write/read notes from Bass C to Treble C
• Ages 8 and up

Tuition (includes materials):

• Existing students - each workshop is equivalent to 4 regular classes
• New students = $160/person​ ​​​

bucket Drumming
(Rhythm CLASS)​

It is time to explore rhythms and beats! This energetic and interactive workshop focuses on learning and perfecting rhythm. In addition to the basic rhythms covered in class, students will learn and master rhythm sequences. Students will be drumming  to pop music. Fun class for beginner and intermediate level students.

Class Details:
This is a 3hr workshop and it is divided into 2 sessions. Each session is for 1.5 hours. Students must be able to complete both sessions of the workshop. For scheduling conflict, students can opt to combine a session from each option.

  • Date: Tuesday, June 13th and Thursday, June 15th
  • Time: 2:30pm - 4pm

  • Date: Monday, June 26th and Wednesday, June 28th
  • Time: 2:30pm - 4pm

Requirements:

• Students must be able to follow instructions and meet the minimum age requirements listed below. 
• Piano - Ages 8 and up
